As I understood from the earlier discussions 0.57 will come with a
warning and we can expect a more stable version only about weeks from
now, in early March.

In the meantime we could see the counter go.

BTW I did not mean that you link from the Strawberry web page to this
package, just that the http://padre.perlide.org/download.html leads
there. As a second thought though, maybe it is better to create a
separate Google code project for padre and upload both the Windows
version the Linux version and the Mac file there.
