[Padre-dev] Padre Standalone schedule plans...

Considering that the Friday before the birthday celebration is a big
holiday where I live (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_Day_%28Utah%29 ), I'm wanting to
know if there are any other plugins than Padre::Plugin::Perl6 that
should be considered for Padre Standalone, and pretty quickly, so I can
get it done before then. Suggested plugins must be installable on
Win32, of course - you may want to check against the version of Padre
Standalone that's already available. Svabgab and Azawazi, (whatever
your real names are) you'll each have a veto, as well as Adam Kennedy
and I, as to what plugins go in. (I figure you three know what's not
stable enough to go in yet.)
If you want to veto any additional plugins at all, and just go with
Padre and P::P::P6, that's fine, too.
You may also want to look at the distributions list (copied from
DISTRIBUTIONS.txt) at the end of this message to show what's already
installed in Strawberry as of the release candidate that was announced
last night.
Unless somebody else wants to build Padre Standalone, here's the
schedule as I'm planning it out at the moment: (All times are Unites
States Mountain Daylight, which is 6 hours behind GMT.)
I'll pull down a filtered minicpan on Monday evening (the 20th) at
approximately 9:00 pm from cpan.hexten.net to build against. So if your
modules aren't uploaded to CPAN by then, they won't get in. Maybe if
Padre itself is updated at the last minute, I'll repull. The reason for
this is that I have to have a stable CPAN to build against - I can't
have the modules to be installed changing under me. Yell for me on
#padre if you need this delayed at the last minute.
Once I've pulled the minicpan, I will NOT add plugins for the birthday
build. I need a little time to get the filtering right before I pull, so
the earlier I know what to include, the better.
I'll do test builds Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, to make sure
I got all the prerequisites for any suggested plugins right, and that
all said prerequisites compile and pass tests. Any plugins whose
prerequisites do not pass tests will be removed. I won't have much time
to talk to upstreams to get things fixed.
If a development version DOES pass tests, I'll use it. If it's obvious
that it's an easily-fixable test bug in the release version, I'll force
installation.
Wednesday or Thursday evening (22nd/23rd), I'll actually do the final
build and get it uploaded, hopefully.
I will be on #padre, as well as watching the mailing list, in my
evenings and mornings (9pm to 9am is pretty much guaranteed that I will
be logged into IRC, although I will be asleep during much of it.) except
on Saturday night.
