so I forwarded the earlier messages to the padre-dev list and I am CC-ing
the list on this answer. don't worry, if you reply only to me I can

Well, maybe there are things that Padre does better but there are certain things
eg. the unicode stuff - that you certainly did better. Looking at the code
could help us.

I'll try that later or I hope someone else from the Padre developers will try
