It's always good to get some positive feedback.
I've been meaning to document installing Padre on a clean Strawberry
perl install if only to go through the steps when dependancies fail.
The first time through it was daunting as I have to admit I had only
used the cpan shell the once before on a linux system many years ago,
only to fall back to using apt-get to install what ever was available.
Anyway, with Padre I've been doing a lot of things I've never done
before, like pull trunk every time I log into to see what's changed....
and using cpan to install the bits that Padre needs. It's certainly be
a catalyst to leraning more about perl and cpan.
Having the nerve to force an install ( that Wx ProcessStream module is
the culprit ) and then looking back to work out what needs to be
installed next came because I finally that a reason to do it...
If I get time on the weekend I'll work something out and look to putting
it on the wiki if you like...
if nothing else it might address this:
Your wiki may unduly scare people off with this line "but many of the
> dependencies need manual attention and it can take several hours to
> install it the first time". It took me no time at all to install.

Which I have to say I agree with, it's not THAT hard .. :)
