Two issues:

a. Someone put an entry in the Changes stating
"Experimental PPI base syntax checking. (HJANSEN)"
But it's not based on PPI. I used plain "perl -c"!

b. It could be that I was a little hasty when I removed the checks for the 
"experimental" flag around the various syntax checking related actions / 
menu entries: After playing a bit with it I found some glitches. 
E.g. the info in the issues list subwindow doesn't change when 
you switch editors until a change in the newly activated editor forces 
another check run. 
I also don't even know if it works at all under MS Windows.
It might therefore be better to put the experimental flag checks back in
but I won't be able to do that before tonight (and it's not even sure that 
I'll have the time then).
