[Padre-dev] extra panes / sidebars redesign?

I added another sidebar for listing syntax errors yesterday and
when I did I realized that we probably need a redesign regarding
the use of these sidebars / panes.
I can easily think of another couple of sensible sidebars (code
fragments, filesystem / project browser, debugger info, ...) and
the space we have isn't infinite.
Maybe we could go and provide up to three panes (left, bottom,
right) which all take a aui notebook as content and then put our
current subwindows in there as tabs.
As far as I understand the wxWidget docs it could be made possible
for the users to move the tabs from one notebook to another (or
still float them).

Comments, anyone?

By the way: I just added another view option (highlight current line).
Sooner or later we need to decide which of them are important enough
to be kept in the menu and which should only be accessible via the
preferences dialog since it's slowly getting rather crowded in the 
menu... ;-)
